Update Finally

SO! Sorry for the long wait for the update (whoever actually reads this! haha). I have been busy with school and spring weekend and such. So to business lets start with some discussion of Daemonhunter Units!

First lets go with style of play. I once read an amazing FAQ about styles of play being classifed by the elements. Here it is: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=101214&st=0&p=1163896&#entry1163896

That FAQ is brilliant for any Daemonhunter commander! Read it!

So I am seeing myself becoming a water warrior (high mobility and only striking when i have to). In my battles so far it is clear what the strengths and weaknesses of the Grey Knights and Grey Knight Terminators are. They excel at Assault like no other army I have seen. They have strength 6, 4 Initiatve and 2-5 attacks on a charge.

Oh and I forgot to mention the Justicar and every Terminator has a POWER SWORD. My terms have wiped out entire Space Marine Term Squads. INCREDIBLE ! You have to realize the intense potential of that. They are reliable with a 2+/5+ save and are also amazing at taking out tanks with S6! My list has a Grandmaster with a chainfist for 2d6 armour penetration! Basically every Grey Knight(term included) can take out armour at all times.

The challenge is surviving! This is why the way of the water warrior is best for Daemonhunters. Moving quickly with/without land Raiders and using cover to its maximum is the only way to win. A Daemonhunters army is at its best using elite troops where every move counts.

Some weaknesses I noticed in my last battle was:

1)Inquisitorial Stormtroopers: Too weak for any good in this army especially when they are taking points away from taking more of stronger units. Yes they can take up troop choices and provide cannon fodder but cannon fodder is all they are good for. Water armies are abhorrent to that.

2)DEEP STRIKING: Fail. It may have been some bad rolls or something but I nearly lost my entire units of terminators with Grandmaster and a unit of Grey Knights. NOT WORTH THE RISK. Not even that but even if htey make it on the board with displacement they are still in the middle of NOWHERE! They are wide open to attack from anything. Not useful with such a small army! Space Marines can pull it off with a Dreadnought because he can survive most smalls arms fire with 100% certainty. N-O Deep striking with Grey Knights!

I got 2 more Grey knights to fill in the ranks and am hoping will be getting some more models with my birthday in 6 days! Nice.

Started painting Eldar seriously as well!! I’ll see if i can some pics up!

Comment if you want to hear about anything specific!
